Mickleover Sports Club,
Mickleover Sports are based in Derbyshire. The club was formed in 1948 and spent the first 44 years of their existence competing locally in the Derby and District Senior League.
In 1993, they joined the Central Midlands Football League Premier Division, gaining promotion to the Supreme Division two years later. They moved up to Northern Counties East League Division One in 1999, and in the 2000/01 season reached the 4th round of the FA Vase.
Their most recent promotion, to the Northern Premier League, occurred at the end of the 2008/09 season.

Founder members of the NPL Football Academy, joining in 2014 and won the inaugural NPL Football Academy title and then followed that up with another league championship a year later.
Lewis Belgrave was the first Mickleover Sports football graduate when he made his debut against Darlington on Saturday 10th October 2015. Students Kieran Cronin, Tyron Buxton, Jordan Gilhooly, Murtaza Haidary and Jack Tolley have all appeared on the first team bench at various times throughout their time at the Academy.

John aged 35 joined the clubs football and education programme in September 2015. Apart from his school qualifications his further education includes a BA Hons degree in Sports Media and Broadcasting. He also has the FA advanced first aid award and the FA safeguarding children certificates.
John’s extensive playing career has seen him perform for clubs such as; Aston Villa, Burton Albion, Doncaster Rovers, Shrewsbury Town, York City, Dagenham & Redbridge, Kidderminister Harriers, Alfreton Town, Weymouth, Tamworth & Limerick FC enabling him to pass over a vast amount of experience and knowledge which he acquired during his playing days.
John decided to enter into the mentoring and coaching sector and It is his coaching and management career where John has excelled; his football qualifications include The UEFA A Licence, UEFA B Licence, FA Youth Module 1 (developing the environment) FA Youth Module 2 (developing the practice) FA Youth Module 3 (developing the player) FA Level 1 Futsal, FA Coaching Disabled Footballers and FA BFAS giving him the ideal qualifications for this type of role.
John briefly held the assistant managers’ role at Sheffield FC and coached at the Doncaster Rovers academy 2010-2014 and from 2014 to current at the Sheffield United academy. John is also Owner and Director of Premier Coaching LTD & Academy-Links LTD.
In July 2016, John was named as the first team manager a Mickleover Sports in what is his first senior managerial role in football.
