Leek Town Football Club were formed in 1946 and have been members of the Northern Premier League since 1987. In 1990 they won the Division One title and reached the FA Trophy final at Wembley, losing out to Barrow. In 1997 they claimed the Premier Division title and were promoted to the Conference where they spent two season before returning to the Northern Premier League.

Dylan Shilcock was the first Leek Town football graduate when he made his debut against Sheffield FC on Tuesday 24th March 2015 in the Evo-Stik Division One South.
COACHES PROFILE | JOHN MAYER
John is 50 years of age and is vastly experienced in both the education and football sector so has a good understanding of the requirements needed.
Having amassed 10 GCSE, he continued to acquire qualifications such as an HNC in ceramic technology, his PTLS (preparing to teach in lifelong learning sector) and his NEBS certificate in management. John has delivered the Healthy Lifestyle to adults and delivered the Level 2 in sports coaching and leadership also delivering the national citizenship scheme for Port Vale. His other sports qualifications include YMCA Personal Trainer Award, Emergency Aid, ITEC Certificate in Body Massage.
John’s playing career has seen him play for Port Vale Reserves, Leek Town, Rocester and Eastwood Hanley. These clubs featured in the Northern Premier League, North West Counties and West Midland Leagues.
John has progressed through the football qualification ladder acquiring the UEFA B licence and FA Youth Modules, FA Youth module 1 (developing the environment) FA Youth Module 2 (developing the practice) FA Youth Module 3 (developing the player) with these qualifications it has allowed John to coach for the last three years in the Academy at Port Vale and for eighteen months he had been coaching at Stoke City’s Girls Centre of Excellence and now adds the Leek Town Football and Education coach / manager to his duties.
