Belper Town are one of the oldest football clubs in the country having been formed in 1883.
The Derbyshire club have been in the Northern Premier League since 1997 and have spent the majority of their time in the First Division.
After seven top ten finishes in nine years, they finally achieved promotion to the Premier Division via the play offs albeit for one season only in 2014.
Belper Town joined the NPL Football Academy in 2015.
Scott Taylor was the first Belper Town football graduate when he made his debut against Rugby Town on Saturday 22nd August 2015 after several appearances on the bench.
COACH PROFILE | TOM DONLON
Tom is 24 years of age and is perfect to be in this role. Tom has excellent qualifications in both education and football. In education Tom completed his Sport Development with a coaching degree and is currently studying a PGCE in post 14 education. Tom previously was a sports development officer for the largest school sports partnership in Sheffield delivering to all age ranges. Tom has acquired his first aid qualifications and gained other awards in community sports such as the level 3 higher sports leadership award.
As a schoolboy he had spells at Manchester United, Sheffield United and Lincoln City, before becoming a scholar at Lincoln City. After finishing with Lincoln City Tom played in the Evo-Stik league with Stocksbridge Park Steels and then decided to concentrate on a coaching career and quickly obtained his UEFA B Licence as well as adding the FA Youth module 1 (developing the environment) FA Youth Module 2 (developing the practice) FA Youth Module 3 (developing the player). These awards led Tom into professional game where he currently is involved in the Sheffield Wednesday FC Development programme where he has coached the under 11s / under 12s and under 14s sides over the past three years and is delighted to be able to coach and manage the Belper Town Football and Education Programme.
