The NPL Football Academy (NPLFA) is delighted to announce that Warrington Town student Aron McGrath is progressing onto the NPLFA’s ‘Undergraduate Sports Degree’ in partnership with Loughborough College.
Starting this September, the NPLFA are offering two types of blended learning courses that will last three years – a BSc in Sports Coaching to gain valuable work experience at a semi-professional club while obtaining coaching qualifications and a BSc in Sports Management covering the football industry and a host of cross-transferable skills.
The talented Yellows’ midfielder becomes one of the first students to graduate from the BTEC to Degree course and is looking forward to embarking on another three years with the NPLFA.
“I was attracted to the NPLFA degree course because it will allow me to continue playing football full time whilst furthering my education. I am really looking forward to training and getting match fit ahead of the new season after the long summer break.
“I am still unsure of a specific future career, but feel that the NPLFA degree course will give me the time to consider my career options, within sport and football, such as PE teacher, coach, etc”
‘Azza’ as he is known by everyone at the club has had a hugely successful time so far at the NPLFA and has enjoyed every minute of it so far “I have really enjoyed these past two years at Warrington Town’s Academy which is why I’ve decided to extend my time with the club. Our coaches, first Nick (Chadwick) and now Keith (Southern), have brought together a group of lads and made us into a team. I have made some good mates during these past two years and look forward to the next three!”
“I have found the BTEC level 3 challenging at times, but have enjoyed learning various areas of sport while continuing full time football.
We would like to wish Aron the very best of luck in his new chapter and throughout the 2017/18 season, we will be bringing you regular updates on Aron and the rest of the degree students on how they are progressing in their first year.
